1.5 million m² former firing range cleared with UAV support
DAMASEC surveyed a former firing range with BULUCU, detected and cleared 241 items of ordnance and made the land ready for commercial use.
In 2022 DAMASEC completed an underground unexploded ordnance (UXO) search and clearance operation on approximately 1.5 million square metres of land formerly used as a firing range.
The area was surveyed with BULUCU, DAMASEC’s drone-based magnetic gradiometer system, to produce an anomaly map; coordinate-based targets were verified by EOD teams and safely destroyed. A total of 241 items of ordnance (70, 75, 90, 105 and 155 mm) were cleared and the land was handed over to be opened to commercial use.
Project details, including the calibre breakdown and maps, are available on the project page.
